Figure 1: General Scheme for Using Cleavable Biotin with a dPEG®4 spacer. In this scheme, a surface containing free amines (biomolecule, polymer, or other surface) is reacted under slightly basic conditions with Quanta BioDesign's product number 10194, NHS-S-S-dPEG®4-Biotin. When the label is no longer needed, mild reducing conditions using DTT or TCEP break the disulfide bond and release the biotin portion of the cleavable biotin labeling reagent.
