What’s different about dPEG® products?
Quanta BioDesign’s monodisperse dPEG® products provide all the benefits of traditional PEGylation reagents. However, our dPEG® products are distinctly different from conventional PEGylation reagents in one critical aspect: our products have no dispersity. In contrast, typical PEGylation reagents are disperse polymers consisting of intractably complex mixtures of different PEG chain lengths and molecular weights. Disperse polymers are challenging to analyze and characterize.
Quanta BioDesign’s dPEG® products consist of a single, discrete chain length and molecular weight of PEG. The analytical challenges of dispersed, polymeric PEG disappear, but the benefits of traditional PEGylation reagents remain.

How do I use Amino-dPEG®6–t-butyl ester?
Amino-dPEG®6–t-butyl ester is useful for constructing novel crosslinks. For example, it can be used to modify the C-terminus of a peptide or an acidic amino acid side chain in a peptide. Following TFA deprotection, the carboxylic acid end of the dPEG® can react with a free amine on an amino acid side chain (e.g., lysine) or the N-terminus of another peptide. As another example, the ends of Amino-dPEG®6–t-butyl ester can be functionalized with reactive groups that permit novel types of crosslinking reactions. Examples of this type of process with Amino-dPEG®6–t-butyl ester exist in the scientific literature in the construction of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
Can you sell Amino-dPEG®6–t-butyl ester in bulk?
Yes, we can. If you need bulk product in a larger package size than our standard sizes, please contact us for a quote. Our commercial capabilities permit us to manufacture this product at any scale that you need.
Disperse polymer PEGylation reagents create headache-inducing analytical challenges. Hydrophobic crosslinkers create numerous problems, including aggregation, precipitation, and non-specific interactions. Quanta BioDesign’s monodisperse dPEG® PEGylation reagents overcome the difficulties created by traditional polymer PEGs and hydrophobic crosslinkers.
