Azido-dPEG®23-amine, product number 10525, is a carbonyl-reactive, biocompatible crosslinking reagent that can participate in multiple types of reactions. The product consists of an azide group and an amine group on opposite ends of a single molecular weight, discrete polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain that is 72 atoms (86.8 Å) long. The azide reacts with alkynes in copper-catalyzed, ruthenium-catalyzed, and strain-promoted click chemistry to yield triazole derivatives. Moreover, the azide group functions as a masked amine that reduces to a primary amine via a suitable reducing agent. Furthermore, Azido-dPEG®23-amine can participate in a Staudinger ligation with appropriate phosphine derivatives to create a water-soluble product.
dPEG® Technology Makes a Difference in PEGylation
Quanta BioDesign invented discrete PEG technology. We manufacture and sell our products under the dPEG® trade name. Our products provide all of the benefits of conventional PEG linkers and spacers, including increased water solubility, increased hydrodynamic volume, improved biodistribution and pharmacokinetic profiles in vivo, reduction or elimination of immunogenicity of conjugated molecules, and many more. However, our products have no dispersity, unlike traditional polymer PEG products. Thus, our products eliminate the analytical difficulties that traditional PEG products produce. Several patents and scientific publications specifically cite the use of Azido-dPEG®23-amine from Quanta BioDesign. The amphiphilic dPEG® product binds up to three molecules of water per oxygen atom in the PEG chain, which contains twenty-three (23) oxygens, hence the dPEG®23 designation. Thus, this versatile crosslinker adds hydrodynamic volume and imparts water solubility to any compound to which it is conjugated. Also, because the terminal azide group functions in multiple different types of reactions, Azido-dPEG®23-amine uniquely acts as both a heterobifunctional and a homobifunctional crosslinking reagent.
Commercial Scale Product of Azido-dPEG®23-amine is Available
If you need bulk product in a larger package size than our standard sizes, please contact us for a quote. Our commercial capabilities permit us to manufacture this product at any scale that you need.
Hydrophobic crosslinkers create more problems than they solve. Traditional disperse polymer PEG crosslinkers add unnecessary analytical complexity to conjugates that incorporate them.
